Running

Running as recreational activity has grown tremendously over the last number of years. This is most evident as the number of running races at the various distances (5 km, 10 km, 1/2 marathon, and marathon) can be found almost every weekend. Participants in these events have grown increasingly more interested on how to best prepare for their selected events. 

Program Specifics

The PEAK Centre Running Program was developed out of the increasing need of runners who were not content with training programs and inaccurate training zone development so prevalent in books and throughout the internet. This generic approach to running not only can be unsafe, but can also limit a persons improvement over time.

Utilizing running specific fitness testing, and event specific training program development and implementation, the PEAK Centre Running Program can ensure that training plateaus do not occur, and event preparation and completion can lead you to a personal best performance.

The PEAK Centre Running Program includes:

  • Designated experienced running coach
  • Aerobic fitness testing (Lactate and VO2)
  • Speed, pace, and heart rate training zone development- Inital and continual
  • Monthly training plan design (5 km, 10 km, 1/2 marathon, or marathon)
  • Unlimited phone and e-mail support
  • Facility access (Ottawa location), including freeweight and Treamdill area
  • Nutritional conselling
  • Gait analysis (available extra)

Cost:

First month payment- $225.00 + GST (initial testing and initial monthly training schedule)

Monthly payments-      $125.00 + GST (subsequent testing and monthly training plan design)


Training with the PEAK Centre provides you with a sense of  prepardness, in that you can almost know the result of your race even before you complete it.
