Sport Specific

Sport specific laboratory testing as well as field testing provides the ability to measure very precise levels of fitness in a controlled and sport specific environment. Utilizing the most advanced medical equipment to ensure testing accuracy, PEAK Centre Physiologists are able to precisely measure an individuals sport specific fitness in detail.

Some tests PEAK Centre is able to complete are:

Lactate Testing- Sport specific lactate measurements are taken at progressively increased levels of effort, after which presice training zones can be developed for consequent training.

VO2 Max Testing- Oxygen consumption is measured directly, at progressively increased levels of effort in order to determine V02 Max as well as submaximal oxygen consumptions.

Repletion Testing- Nutritional utilization is measured to determine precise caloric, fat, and carbohydrate requirements during training . Important for developing refueling strategies during training.

Wingate/Power Testing- Utilizing sophisticated power measurement systems and protocols, sport specific power can be accurately measured.

Body Composition- Specific skinfold measurments and analysis are used to determine if your current body composition is within range for your expected level of sport participation.

Movement Screen Testing- Physical ability testing of specific attributes required for successful sports performance. A key measurement variable in many youth sport activities. Upper and lower body power, strength, flexibility and balance.

Field Testing- Field testing provides accurate movement and time motion specific measurements of a particular sport. The use of portable measurement devices and protocols allows the collection of data to be specific to the intended sport movement being measured.

Spint Recovery Testing- Many intermittent team and racquet sports require burst of high intensity efforts with sport specific recovery intervals. On-ice, field, court, and turf sprint recovery testing allows for accurate measurement of repeated sprint performances.

Sport specificity in both lab and field testing protocols is critical for the testing information to be relevant. PEAK Centre has developed, refined, and updated protocols for numerous sports for over 30 years.
